More About Our Committee
After a quiet period the Newtown Twinning Committee is back with a New Chairman and New Members!
In 1999 Newtown signs a charter joining the two towns with main objectives being to help create exchanges and opportunities from students to businesses.
Our non-profitable organisation is to develop relations between inhabitants and companies of the two cities within a wide range of domain including art, culture, eco matters, food & drink, sport and tourism.
Since then many successful events have taken place, from the Twin-Olympics, to choral singing and from school pen pal exchange to friendship founded between families.
Twinning creates opportunities for children to discover, meet, and experience a new culture inspiring them to learn languages and widen their horizons.
Businesses can open new ways to develop by creating a new export market but also to exchange knowledge. From eco friendly techniques and resources to joining forces to reduce our carbon footprint.
Families can make new friends and create a new way of eco tourism by simply exchanging houses.
From a walk in wales to a walk along the French countryside twinning is a way to discover and enjoy a new social adventure.
Let’s take a walk together…
